Waterside Cottage

In the heart of one of Cornwall's working fishing villages

Relax and put your feet up and enjoy the layed back atmosphere and watch the comings and goings in the harbour.

The cottage has great character with low windows and beamed ceilings, latch doors and three separate short flights of stairs.

Letting over many years, we try to maintain a comfortable cottage with a cosy feel which is welcoming for our guests. Over time we have many people who have become regular visitors to the place, and this continues to be a key part of our season. Alongside this we have availability across the season for new arrivals, anyone who would like to come and enjoy the opportunity the cottage offers in this lovely setting.

The accommodation is on the top two floors of the three storey building and is entered from the rear, by a door at roof top level with views out to sea over a low wall, tucked between the cottage and one of the narrow pedestrian lanes that wind between the cottages up to the cliff top. All rooms are waterfront.

Mevagissey is one of the most charming ports of the South Cornish coast. Its white and colour washed dwellings perched on tile slopes of the hills encircling the two harbours. Many of the old fish cellars in the picturesque village have been converted to modern use but their old strong walls and the unspoilt appearance of the narrow streets retain the character of old Mevagissey which is so enchanting to the holiday visitor.

Fishing still remains one of the chief occupations of the local people and visitors will be glad to know that many of the boats bobbing in the harbour are available for deep sea angling, shark fishing and mackerel trips around the bay which are very popular.

Visit the museum and see how the pilchard boats filled the harbour in times gone by.

The Lost Gardens of Helligan are less than 10 minutes away by car or there is a footpath from the outskirts of the village that takes in the local countryside.

Mevagissey is ideally suited for access to The Eden Project, Cornish Clay Mines and a host of attractions in South West Cornwall.
